Yes, that is possible, simply you'd need to go the data into the xml formal Word uses. To encounter what is required, open Word's 'Sources.xml' file, typically found at:

Y'all may besides observe the post-obit page useful, particularly since it discusses both the chief bibliographic listing and the list for your current document.

Although the XML namespace name they accept in their examples works when adding new entries, it isn't the same every bit the ones that Word actually returns when you become the XML via Word'due south object model.

What I recall I desire to do is create an Access DB with my citations, and so be able to query that, create a list of sources for a particular newspaper or work I might exist working on.  And then I could upload that to the Word document.

For instance, I know that when you create a list of recipients for a mail merge, salvage it, Discussion creates an Access DB for hereafter reference.

That'southward what I'grand afterwards.

Why purchase that when I probably could develop a db on the inexpensive, eh?

What I think I want to practice is create an Access DB with my citations, so be able to query that, create a list of sources for a item newspaper or piece of work I might be working on.  So I could upload that to the Word certificate.

For example, I know that when yous create a listing of recipients for a mail service merge, save it, Word creates an Access DB for future reference.

That's what I'm later on.

Whilst you could put your references into a DB, that would exist duplicating the work of the Sources.xml file, since any citation y'all add together to a certificate ends up there anyway. In any event, simply storing them in the DB doesn't address the core issue, which is that of getting the data into Word.

The mailmerge analogy doesn't really apply, every bit the logic to interpret a information source for mailmerge purposes is congenital into Word. In that location is no equivalent congenital-in functionality for bibliographic data. Accordingly, the 'tool' to do the import would have to be written from scratch and would crave a detailed noesis of the source data's construction every bit well.
